JPEG, or .jpg

A common file format that stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group.

A JPEG file is generally compressed for storage, transfer or web-use and can generally be opened with any photo program or browser.

These can be high or low quality images, in RGB, grayscale or CMYK color formats.

JPEG compression is useful for saving high-quality photographic or rich color images in small file sizes suitable for websites or E-Newsletters.

High quality print-ready image files such as large, full color photos can be saved as compressed JPEG files for easier online transfer.

Justification is typing or setting text lines to the same length so that they line up on the left and right.

Right justification, or right justified text, lines up on the right hand side of the text column. A synonym for this is left ragged.

Left justification, or left justified text, lines up on the left hand side of the text column. A synonym is right ragged.
