offset printing
Printing
A printing process on a press where the image is transferred (or “offset”) from a plate to rubber, then to the printing surface.
This is the most common printing method for high-volume jobs because of advantages in quality and efficiency over digital printing for high-volume runs. Offset printing also allows exact color-matching with individual PMS inks, or can be run as process color(CMYK) on 4-color presses. On large presses, a job can be run as 4-color (CMYK) plus additional spot color inks, varnish, or metallics.
Digital printing allows low-volume runs at a lower cost, and offers faster turnaround time, but can not give the color accuracy or range of substrates(paper) that offset printing offers.
